 My sadness is a whale,

A beautiful old tyrant,

She’s a mass in the void,

A shimmering giant.

You can hear her sing song,

If you dive down deep,

Deep under the skin,

Passed the Unknown Sleep,

There light isn’t allowed,

Where sing songs are sung,

To the pearls and tear-fishes,

Salt tears lovingly wrung.

My whale will wail, it is my sadness,

Down, down,

Down deep,

In darkly cold molasses.
